FAQ

1. How can I create a report for an inspection already completed?

Go to “Inspections” tab, then click on create report. You will then be asked to output into Word or PDF, whether you would like the report with or without the scoreable criteria and what size of photos you would like (full page, ¼ page, etc.). From this point, it is advised to save a hard copy of the report to your local computer or server.


2. How can I change existing questions on a report type?

Go to the “Report Types” tab, then click “view reports”, then click on edit for the corresponding report type. From this point you can click on individual questions and edit the question, or, edit the answers (i.e. true/false, compliant/non-compliant, etc.).


3. How can I re-order questions on a report type?

You can re-order questions by going to “Report Types”, then “view report types” and then click on edit. From there, you can single click on the edit feature and drag the desired question to a new location. Once you are satisfied with the question ordering it is required that you click on “save ordering” icon.


4. How can I edit an existing inspection that has already been completed?

Go to the “Inspections” tab, then click “view inspections”. Click on the edit icon and select edit on the questions you wish to change. To insert photos see question #5 below.


5. How can I insert photographs to an existing report?

Go to “Inspections”, then view inspections. From the inspection list, click on edit for the desired inspection. Click on the camera icon to insert a photo. You will then be taken to a screen that will allow you to browse your local computer for the desired photograph or file. Once you have found the photo on your local computer select it and then select upload. From that point you can add another photo or return to the inspection. NOTE: Inspection responses (i.e. answers) need to be inputted before a photo can be added. If the inspection responses are not present the camera icon will not be available.


6. How can I access an inspection that has been assigned to me?

Online at your local computer – Go to “Inspections”, then “view inspections”. Click on the magnifying glass which will enable you to access the online inspection. Alternatively, you can click on “Inspections”, then “view schedule” and select the desired date and view all inspections scheduled on that date.
Through email feature (via PDA, outlook or other email feature) – Go to email reminder and click on the “Click here” button to access the online inspection. Alternatively, you can visit www.reliablereporting.ca and click on mobile inspection. From the drop down list select the desired inspection and you will be forwarded to the selected inspection.


7. How can I print off an inspection checklist to complete in the field?

Go to inspections, than view inspections. Click on the printer icon which will enable you to print a manual checklist.


8. How can I export (and import) an inspection into Microsoft Excel for off-line completion?

Go to “Inspections”, then “view inspections”. Go to the hard drive icon with the green arrow over the top. This icon will enable you to download to Microsoft Excel. To re-import that inspection from Microsoft Excel click on the magnifying glass with the green arrow. NOTE: Prior to importing the inspection to Microsoft Excel file format it will need to be saved as a Microsoft Excel Workbook 1997 – 2003 file format (instead of Excel 2007 file format).


9. How do I schedule an inspection?

Go to “Inspections”, then “new inspection”. From here, select the “report type” (daily/weekly, monthly, annual, etc.), the inspector to complete the inspection, the location and the date.


10. How can I complete a follow-up action for repairs made after an inspection has been completed?

Go to “Inspections”, and then “view inspections”. Click on the wrench icon. This will enable you to enter follow up data.


11. After creating a report in Microsoft Word I am having difficulty editing the page format and edits?

If you are having difficulties editing a report in Microsoft Word consider adding gridlines. This will enable you to see the text boxes and boundaries that exist around each question and answer.
In Microsoft Word 2007 click the view tab, under gridlines select the layout tab
In Microsoft Word 2003 or earlier click the tools tab, then options, then view text boundaries


12. I am having difficulty opening and viewing my created report in Microsoft Word?

The default view when creating a report into Microsoft Word is a webpage file. Try saving your file as a Word 1997 – 2003 document file (instead of a webpage).


13. I am having difficulty importing my completed inspection in Microsoft Excel back into Auditor?

The defaults file type when exporting an inspection into Microsoft Excel in a 2007 file format.
When importing the file type must be switched to an Excel Workbook 1997 – 2003 file (similar to saving a Microsoft Word file)
